Business Associate Agreement

HIPAA-compliant transcription for law firms handling PHI

What is a BAA?

A Business Associate Agreement (BAA) is a legally binding contract required by HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) between a Covered Entity and a Business Associate. It ensures that Protected Health Information (PHI) is properly safeguarded.

As a legal transcription service, TranscribeLegal.ai may process audio recordings containing PHI, such as medical depositions, personal injury case recordings, and healthcare-related legal proceedings. Our BAA ensures this data is handled in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Our HIPAA Compliance

Encryption

AES-256 encryption at rest, TLS 1.3 in transit. All audio files and transcripts are encrypted end-to-end.

Audit Trails

Immutable audit logs track all access to PHI. Logs retained for 6+ years per HIPAA requirements.

Access Controls

Role-based access control ensures only authorized personnel can access PHI. Multi-factor authentication supported.

Secure Deletion

Audio files can be automatically deleted after transcription. Full data deletion available upon account closure.

Our BAA coverage extends through our infrastructure chain:
